Meet Amanda Williams, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Amanda is no stranger to burn out.

After completing her accelerated BSN program in 2015, Amanda immediately began working in the burn ICU as a new grad. Feeling overwhelmed, unsupported, and severely lacking in legitimate coping skills, Amanda very quickly burned out and threw in the towel.

She took a break from nursing for a bit before missing it and giving it another go, this time finding herself working in private duty nursing. She really enjoyed the one-to-one connection and relationship building that private duty nursing provided.

Amanda put two and two together. Her own mental health struggles, combined with her enjoyment of supporting patients one-on-one and building long-term relationships drove her to work towards her MSN. At the same time, she transitioned to working in community mental health, where she served as the office nurse for three locations in central NJ. After completing her MSN and passing her boards, she worked at the same community mental health facility as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

Most recently, Amanda opened her own private practice in NJ where she has been working since 2021. Amanda provides both medication management and individual therapy services, earning an additional certification as a Nature Informed Provider through the Center for Nature Informed Therapy in 2022.
